THE BURDEN: A STORY TO HELP YOU STOP WORRYING

HI GUYS,

I was going through the internet and discover a very interesting story on the need not to worry about anything in life just like the Holy Bible say in Mathew 6:25-34. Enjoy reading.

“When walking, walk. When eating, eat”. This popular Zen proverb had me bewildered about it’s meaning at first sight, some months ago. In good time, I realized that most of us think while eating, walking, sleeping, and a whole lot of other things.

Understand ‘Worry’, and You Stop Worrying

Many a time, thoughts that surround us are such – ‘Did I do right?’, ‘Could I have done better?’, ‘What will be the result of this?’. In fact these are such familiar thoughts, that they are often on in our systems without our awareness. To stop worrying, we first need to be aware; aware of how often we carry the burden of our past behaviors, even when we know that we’re ‘done doing it’?
‘I didn’t prepare well enough for today’s presentation!’,
‘I don’t know if I replied to his/her message the right way….!’,
‘Did I make a fool of myself by confessing my mistake?…?’

What do these thoughts sound like? How do they make you feel? Preoccupied, guilty, burdened?
Lots of times, we are in these grey situations where there is nothing obvious that we’ve done wrong, but nothing that we’ve done terribly right either. Often, these are the very situations that niggle at our thoughts and peace and then we can’t stop worrying, at least not until we’ve stayed up a couple of hours in the night. Let us pay some attention to this tendency.

Let us start just by being aware that we’re niggling at ourselves for no fruitful reason. You may ask what mere awareness will do, I say, it is enough. Enough to quietly coach the mind, enough to make the mind realize its own nature. Be aware when you are burdening yourself like this. Gently, help the burden lift off. With a lot of love, remind yourself that you did what genuinely occurred to you, and that it is over. When and if the consequences come, you will face them, as genuinely and sincerely as you can. The act is done, and it is over.
A Zen story taken from here explains this philosophy beautifully…

The Burden

Two monks were returning to the monastery in the evening. It had rained and there were puddles of water on the road sides. At one place a beautiful young woman was standing unable to walk across because of a puddle of water. The elder of the two monks went up to her lifted her and left her on the other side of the road, and continued his way to the monastery.
In the evening the younger monk came to the elder monk and said, “Sir, as monks, we cannot touch a woman ?”
The elder monk answered “yes, brother”.
Then the younger monk asks again, “but then Sir, how is that you lifted that woman on the roadside ?”
The elder monk smiled at him and told him ” I left her on the other side of the road, but you are still carrying her.

My thought to you today is " if you are worried about your destiny then write a new one".

THE MAN ALIKO DANGOTE

HI GUYS,

“I think that the greatest gift God ever gave man is not the gift of sight but the gift of vision,” Dr. Munroe says. “Sight is a function of the eyes, but vision is a function of the heart. When a person doesn’t have a vision, they live by their eyes. That means we live by what we see. That’s one of the reasons why people are so depressed, and that’s why the future never becomes a reality.

“Vision is a source of hope; it’s the source of courage; it’s the source of perseverance in the midst of difficulty.”

“The most important thing that I ever discovered was the power of a seed,” Dr. Myles says. “I believe that in every seed there’s a forest. If you have an apple seed, in that apple seed is an apple tree. There’s also apples on that apple tree. So in that one seed you really have a forest.

“How do you get a forest out of a seed is the question you ask. ‘How do I get my vision out of my life?’ The first thing you need to do is to deal with the environment. You take the seed, and you put it in the right environment.

“No matter how old a person is -- they may feel 60, 70, 80 years old. The good news today is if you can get back in the right environment, your dream can still come to pass. It’s not what you’re carrying that’s important. It’s the environment it’s in. I believe that’s why the Bible says, ‘In the presence of the Lord there’s fullness of joy.’

“What you believe in creates your environment in your life and in your heart. It also creates how you see things. Vision really is God exposing the true environment of your life to you in the midst of your present environment. In other words, you see your real self.

“You cannot guide a ship that’s parked. So you find in the book of Proverbs, chapter 16, a very interesting statement made by God. It says, ‘The heart of man makes his plans, and the Lord directs the steps of the plan.’ We’re basically saying, ‘I’m waiting on God.’ God would say, ‘I’m really waiting on you. Why don’t you tell Me what you want to do with your life? Show Me what’s in your heart.’

“People think that their dream is outside of them. So they go looking for prophets – wanting somebody to prophesy to them, going to some crusade, some meeting, some religious leader. You’ll never find it that way. God hid your future in a place where He knew you couldn’t miss it. He hid it within you.
“So what do you desire to do? What do you really want to do as a person? You need to stop and document that; write it down; make a plan; and then God says, ‘I’ll direct your steps.’

“If what you saw in your vision is not what you see now, then what you see is always temporary. So you enjoy what you’re doing now with all your heart because it’s preparation for the next phase.

I’ve come to learn that there’s no “SUPER-HUMAN” anywhere, for you to become successful/wealthy, you need to develop whats inside of you and study people who had gone ahead of you in the quest you desire to embark upon i.e study what these people study, say what they say, have mindsets as theirs and put to action what they did, same way you’d get the same results if not better cos you would have learned from their MISTAKES and get better when doing yours.

You need not “INVENT” the WHEEL JUST REINVENT IT, JUST PRACTICE THE ABOVE.

So today we would be learning a thing or two from the Man ALIKO DANGOTE…
Dangote 2
Aliko Dangote was born into a wealthy home in Kano. He got his first degree in Cairo, Egypt. He had always loved trading , and reports say he hawked sweets even as a primary school child , even though his family was wealthy. Dangote is really a very humble person even by the confessions of people who have interacted with him.
But Dangote is not the only hardworking Nigerian. He is not the only humble person around. He is probably not the most business savvy in Africa. But he is certainly the richest Blackman in the world.
dangote
His companies employ over 11 , 000 people directly – not to mention , distributors, contractors and other vendors who depend on his businesses to thrive . Dangote is a blessing to humanity.
There is no family in Nigeria today that does not have a Dangote product in their home.

If it is not sugar, then it is salt or the house you are living in was built with a Dangote Cement . Everyone has something to do with his business , so like Steve Jobs (APPLE Brand), he earns a little off everyone (LEVERAGE) and that is the way to get wealthy.
1%
Dangote is the 23 rd richest person in the world and is said to be the second most powerful African alive .
Dangote1
The question is how did Dangote attain such a height ? Yes, you can’ t take away his hard work and business acumen, but that is only the starting point. The answer will not be found in the Forbes Magazine or on Wikipedia. The answer is in the verse of scripture quoted below:

“If you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land”.

Nothing in life is worth fighting for. Your best clothes is someone’s rag, your account balance is someone’s donation at a function, your girl friend/boy friend or fiance/fiancee’ is someone’s Ex. Every single prostitute you see in a hotel or on the street at night was at some point in time a virgin. So what is the squabble all about? Life is too small to feel bigger or better than anybody. We’re all naked to death says Steve Jobs. Nothing can save us from it. I hate to see people who Brag about wealth, beauty, intelligence, level of education, fame and material possessions. There’s nothing you’ve achieved in life that no one else has never gotten. There’s only one thing that is worth bragging which is

“BELIEVE IN GOD ALMIGHTY”. SO BE GOOD TO YOUR FELLOW MAN AND ALWAYS MAKE FRIENDS.
